In the late 1800’s Carl Larsson, and his wife, Karin, a textile designer, created a domestic ideal in their home in Sundborn, Dalarna, which Carl captured in his remarkable watercolor paintings of family life. Their interior decoration and textile designs combined fresh, bright colors with Swedish folk motifs and influences of the English Arts and Crafts movement. The Larsson’s art and revolutionary style of interior design continues to inspire designers to this day.
